ABOUT FOBH (UK)

Friends of Batticaloa Hospitals UK is a registered charitable organisation in the UK, engaged in the relief of sickness and the preservation of health among people living in the east of Sri Lanka, in particular through the provision of financial assistance, services, and facilities to the teaching hospitals of the Eastern University, Sri Lanka and other hospitals of the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka and by such other means as the trustees may determine.

The trustees of FOBH(UK) are responsible for the controlling the charitable work, management and administration of the FOBH(UK) on behalf of its beneficiaries. Currently there are thirteen (13) trustees of FOBH.

How the charity spends its money

1. Providing funds in the form of Donations to improve the Health of people living in Eastern Sri Lanka.

2. Improve the Health Facilities in eastern Sri Lanka, where there is a gap in government funding such as mobile clinics

3. Support to Children with nutrition, education, and healthcare

4. Support to elderly people in the community for health and well-being.

FOBH (UK) raises funds from the public but does not work with professional fundraisers or commercial participators.
